About

Hi!! I am Erin - welcome to my blog! I started writing this recipe blog in 2007 because I was chronically bad about sharing recipes with friends. I always promised people a recipe but never actually got around to writing it down or emailing it to all interested parties. While I was pregnant with my third child, I needed an outlet outside of teaching school and chasing my active toddler twins ... and so this website began.

Why gluten-free? I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2003, but I initially approached it like I was a short-order cook - one gluten-free meal for me, another meal for my husband and kids. However, shortly after I began this blog, my older daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease. At first it seemed overwhelming to make our house as gluten-free as possible, but I soon realized it would be easier than I thought.  By sticking with simple ingredients and lots of great flavors, gluten-free cooking for the whole family doesn't have to be a daunting task or break your budget.

The simplest ingredients are local ingredients! Eating gluten-free has really inspired us to source as much food as possible from local farms and even our backyard! I have found that when I use simple, seasonal ingredients, I don't really have to do much to make super tasty food for my friends and family. I hope that you and your family find my recipes simple and delicious!  Enjoy!
